For me personally as a hip hop artist and rapper, my production has always been a way of creating a back drop for myself or others to rap over. The joy of producing comes from taking something changing it, then chopping it up and rearranging it. At the moment my Akai Mpc Live 2 in stand alone mode is an extremely useful tool that lets me create efficiently while traveling South East Asia.
Although I'm still writing my blog posts the good old fashion way, instead of using Chat GPT or another AI software. I was recently introduced to an AI Software that i did find useful as creative tool for making sample free music.
This particular software called Lemonaide Seeds allows me to create AI generated midi stems of chords and melodies by selecting my preferred key, tempo, and feel. After generating the midi patterns you're able to edit them directly in the software before dragging them to you DAW.
For someone like me who works had with a DAWless set up, I'm able to export the midi files to a sequence on my MPC Live via SD card. Once the midi pattern is imported to a track it easy to assign multiple VST instruments, which you can layer and edit, then resample as an 8 bar audio loop.
Once you have resampled the 8 bar loop it can be chopped and played back as you would with any other audio sample. This gave me a fun way to create my own samples and start having more control over sound design. It also gave me a jump start with melodies i may not have thought of. All while in stand alone mode!
