{News} Is it tied to a stick? Legal Market in Bangkok, Thailand

We all grew up with stories of the infamous "Thai Stick" hitting the U.S. back in the 60-70's. Expensive at the time and known for being extremally strong. It was frequently described as being a bunch of buds tied to a stick and the sticks tied in bundles. There are some great articles about what Thai Stick actually was at the time if you'd like to do your research. Flash forward a half century to present day and you'd be surprised to see that cannabis is now legal in Thailand.

The freshly budding legal market in Thailand is still in its infancy, but has made Bangkok a must see destination for Cannabis travelers in Southeast Asia. Khaosan road is known for being the most popular destination in Bangkok for back packers, shoppers, and party goers.

With dispensaries popping up at practically every other store front, a good doobie is not hard to find. However the prices and quality can vary tremendously from vendor to vendor. The base and cheapest product being the famous "Thai Stick" anywhere from 50 Baht ($1.42) a gram to 150 ($4.28). Looking most times like that old familiar brick weed we all remember so fondly. Your uncle was right however it has kick.

If you want more up to date genetics and top notch products they are definitely available although you may find your self paying anywhere between 450-950 Baht ($13-$24) per gram in the tourist districts. OG Kush and Sour Diesel were familiar tastes from home like having a home cooked meal again for the first time in a long time.

Special events like the Bangkok Island 420 Cruise are the best way to delve into cannabis culture in Thailand while exploring the City of Bangkok via the Chao Phraya River. With live music and entertainment, food and beverage, floating green market, and special events such as best grower contest.

Judges sample the contestants products for taste, smell, and smoke before choosing the winner in the best grower contest.
