The recent release "Apeiron" from Portland, Maine based hip hop group Skywriters is a journey through indie/underground rap that from Clvno frequently known as Kid Calvin and Dynamo P.
The production from J.Dunks brings us back and forth from ambient spaced out guitar riffs that drift off into heavy reverb, mixed with abstract vocals. Then suddenly jump back in rhythmic head nodders accompanied by heavy bars from the two mc's.
"Felt funk in the trunk that makes the system jump, jump" My Favorite track off the album P.Funkz is a feel good banger, with a a nice glide on the hi hats and hook you can throw your hands up and sing along to.
Head Bangers Ball, is a rock concert in your headphone, while Grizwoldian has heavy 808's and a southern fiddle sample. Great dynamic on this album.
